Motivation

[edit]

The government-issued enterprise register seems like a useful thing to have. There are already properties for a number of similar registers (see "see also" above). I am not from Germany and I'm not particularly invested in these ID codes, but I happened to see this property was missing while I was adding a German company.

GsR = corporation register; HRA = commercial register excerpt; HRB = commercial register

These identification codes include the Register Court spelled out in full, and have an ugly category denominator which is partly abbreviations and partly spelled out. I find this extremely inelegant, but I can't help it. —M!dgard (talk) 16:21, 17 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Comment I guess it was not added yet because of its complex structure. As you mentioned there are different registers (HRA, HRB, GnR, PR, VR, GsR) and the same number is issued for every type and every local register. And there is no working URL formatter. The source of the unternehmensregister.de is a private enterprise nowadays, while the website handelsregister.de is the official one. So I personally would not use it, instead I'm waiting for the new "Wirtschafts-Identifikationsnummer (W-IdNr.)" (business identification number) which the German government introduced last month and will be rolled out within the next years. But it's not implemented in any of the registers yet. This will be a unique ID for every economically active person or institution. Best --NGOgo (talk) 17:24, 17 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
