Cataloging Distribution Service (CDS)
CDS distributes and markets Library of Congress cataloging records and cataloging-related tools and resources. Popular products include Classification Web, Cataloger's Desktop and MARC bibliographic and authority records.
Duplication Services
Order reproductions of Library of Congress materials. Getting copies of items that have already been digitized is relatively easy. Obtaining copies of items that are fragile, rare or that were made using technology that is no longer in use can be more complex.
Emergency Management, Response & Recovery
Being prepared for emergencies and disasters is essential to preserving collections and family heirlooms. Being prepared means taking precautionary measures and knowing what to do in an emergency. Knowing in advance what to do when disaster strikes increases personal safety and can help avoid catastrophic loss of collections by promoting a response that is timely, calm, and effective.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
Any domestic and international academic, public, and special library may borrow from the Library of Congress through ILL. Individuals may not borrow directly from the Library of Congress, but will need to go through their public or research library.
