You're In Charge When You're Good at This Skill

Think you can't network like a CEO? Think again.

"A network lives and thrives only when it is used. ...Doing something—anything—gets the ball rolling and builds confidence that one does, in fact, have something to contribute."  Harvard Business Review

Strategic networking isn't just about being in the right place at the right time. It's about showing up with the right mindset and making it a habit.

Here are 3 tips successful CEO's use for power networking:

1. Don't be afraid to ask for help.

- The most successful people got there by getting help along the way.

- They know that it's okay to not have all the answers.

- They are open to asking others for advice, mentorship, and connections.

2. Build genuine relationships.

- Build solid relationships rather than collecting business cards.

- Take the time to learn about the person you're networking with.

- Show your credibility with a focus on building a real connection.

3. Give more than you get.

- Offer your help to others.

- Be generous with your time and expertise.

- Provide value before expecting anything in return.

Approach networking with an open mindset, a genuine interest in others, and a willingness to be helpful.
