Wishing you a happy winter solstice.

December 21 is actually what we call the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year with the least amount of sunlight.

For many of us, it's a sad day. It's a dark day, but if you take a look out, the light is where you find it, folks. The light is what you make of it. 

We ARE the light.

It's our job to keep looking for the positive, to shine the light on our genius, to shine the light on others, to be a beacon of light and of hope for others who may need a bit of sunshine in their lives right now.

So with December 21st comes the hope of promise, the hope of a better tomorrow, the hope that this pandemic too, shall pass.

Even as the squirrels hide their nuts and the bears hunker down, it's our chance to reflect and to grab hold of our closest family (our little pods where we are), and to be grateful that we have technology to keep us reaching out to sharing some light, to sharing nice ideas, to spreading joy even in the midst of a pandemic, even in the midst of isolation.

You know, it's funny because my daughter always watches the movie Les Miserables with me. We’ve seen in performed on Broadway and in London, and watch that movie together all the time. From this we’re reminded that

"Even after the darkest night, the sun will rise. "

So please remember that this too, shall pass. This means that every day going forward for the next six months will be one step brighter than the day before.

It's our job to keep our attitude, or mental health, and our progress with our career one step brighter than the day before. 

Take one step, one small action every single day.

We have a great daily accountability tool for that, where my clients enjoy a daily nudge from me (yes, literally) as we set 7-day goals and put momentum toward what matters most. 

Be that beacon of light. Know that tomorrow will indeed literally be brighter for just a bit longer and be a part of that momentum. 

Spread the sunshine, spread the warmth and know that even the darkest of nights shall pass. And tomorrow's another day.
