"Why Teksouth" - Alex Igou

"Why Teksouth" - Alex Igou

Alex Igou - Business Development Activities Associate

My journey with Teksouth began during the summer of 2019. The position that I had applied for was exactly what I was searching for, and seemed almost too good to be true. Teksouth seemed to have everything I wanted in an employer:

  • Small Business culture
  • Team Oriented
  • Pursuing work in Huntsville, with existing customers as a plus.

I was thrilled when I learned that I would be receiving an offer, and I instantly knew I would accept it. So much in the world around us has changed since that time. Who could have imagined what we would all be going through, in just a matter of months?

I felt the same uncertainties and apprehensions that we all had (and still have to some degree): How will this global crisis affect my company? How will this impact my job and my little family? How will Teksouth respond to the pressures that all Small Businesses were (and continue to be) faced with? I was relieved, but not surprised by how my company responded. Despite the pandemic, it was clear that the company’s priority was the safety and well-being of the employees.

In short, Teksouth answered the call, and has continued to adapt to the challenges we all face as employees. I look forward to the days ahead, when we can return to the level of normalcy we all enjoyed before the pandemic. I look forward to getting to see my team again in person (not just virtually). I look forward to going down to Gardendale regularly, and interacting with the Teksouth people there, and making new friends. I look forward to enjoying everything that Teksouth has to offer.

In the meantime, I’m grateful for the opportunity I have to be part of the team, and to contribute (in my own small way) to our shared success. I know that at Teksouth, I’m not just a number and that my input matters. I’m grateful for the opportunity to interact with leadership,…a luxury that many employees in larger companies may never enjoy. I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn, and grow as a professional. I’m grateful for Teksouth.
