Why Agile?? – Who Wins??

Why Agile?? – Who Wins??

Agile!! It’s not a buzz anymore; this is something a need of today’s time, for organizations, those are in a business that needs to be ever ready in responding to change. BTW can u think of a business today which is not fast changing?? So, who is getting benefited? Is it win-lose or win-win for business and its Customers?

Let’s understand..

A cheetah is hungry and spots its prey that is as nimble as the big cat when it comes to self-defense but still falls prey to it when it comes to the agility of the Cheetah. Who knows what would be its next move, but based on its next move the big cat learns quick and formulate the strategy and execute. All with the blink of eye and the job is done. Had the cheetah not being agile and nimble it would have never satisfied his hunger, the very next move has to be decided in no time based on opponents play.

Same is the case with business today.

With the product lifespan becoming short, customer’s expectations and behaviors changing fast and to remain competitive in the market business models are constantly changing. This is demanding teams to be ever ready than before to learn and respond to change quickly, no matter how monolithic the organization is.

Inspect and Adapt – As we say is the mantra in agile. And since no one is perfect the best way is to learn quickly is from your own experiences and mistakes.

Collaboration is the Key. The synergy within the team multiplies the knowledge and helps visualize the holistic picture.

And undoubtedly one needs to possess multiple skills to feel empowered to take decisions quickly. Being Cross-functional enables it!!

Let the business benefit from this approach in learning and enhancing the business models to cater the ever changing customer behavior and hence demands.

Let the Management create leaders by forming self-organizing teams and enable themselves focus on higher value tasks to help business achieve organizational goals

So why do not put a framework in place that incorporates all the good practices we discussed above and let’s give it some name. Agile, it turns out to be!!  And I am sure, By now you know …Why Agile and Who Wins !! :)
