What I ask of Craig Newmark Philanthropies grantees
I get asked about this a lot, so ...
1. Please tolerate my sense of humor, without actually encouraging me. I know I'm not as funny as I think I am. Sure, I'm funny for Washington, but that's a low bar.
2. Communicate with the public effectively, and plan for the downside of success. No good deed goes unpunished.Â
3. Work effectively with people doing similar work. Promote their work as you see fit. This is a big deal for me, and I get great help from The Aspen Institute Cybersecurity Group, Bob Woodruff Foundation , Blue Star Families , and others.
