STOP THIS WAR. Belarussian view.
An addition to my post I made two days ago https://www.linkedin.com/posts/alexander-worobjow-53a25b182_ukraine-belarus-nrw-activity-6902996132381691905-Al1C
While the fearless Ukrainians, not only their army but also the self-defense forces, selflessly and fearlessly defend their country and the world in which we would like to live, I increasingly read and hear reproaches and censures towards Belarusians. That the Belarusian people should wake up today and prevent the army of the aggressor Russia from doing what it is doing in Ukraine, using Bel territory. I know that there are already cases of hostility towards Belarusians who live abroad. That their children are not allowed to play with other children. I personally think that such behavior, attitude, and these statements are incorrect and biased. I can only remind you that Belarusians woke up back in 2020. We already made our choice then. A choice that has been trampled on, washed in the blood, maimed, and imprisoned. I can only ask such people, what did they do in 2020, 2021, and earlier, when in Belarus the people that expressed their opinion were shot with military weapons and thrown with grenades? Where did they spend their time when in a few months almost 40,000 Belarusians went through prisons, tortures, and beatings in the dungeons of detention centers? What did they do what was real and important to help the Belarusians who were arrested and thrown into jail for just liking a Telegram post; wearing the wrong color socks; for personal thoughts that a policeman read from across the street; for a TV box on the balcony that was an illegal color; for white-red-white marmalade, or for a round dance in the square, for daring to express their opinion, i.e. just woke up. How did you personally react to the murders of more than a dozen peaceful Belarusians? Not to mention the landed plane, the video of tortures, and the rest of the list, which could go on for a few more pages. I am writing this not as an observer, which I am now, but as a participant in all this in 2020. Today I am in another country, and with this post I'll add at least 25 days in prison to myself when I return to Minsk for visiting my relatives and friends. I also woke up in 2020 and ran away from the police, closed my children from the riot forces, peacefully expressed my opinion and disagreement with what was happening. It was my wife and me who went to marches in turn, so that in the worst case we would not make our children orphans. It was my beloved wife who was thrown with tear gas grenades and beaten with batons just by running past policeman. I am still afraid of black tinted MB an VW vans. It is my children who are still fearing people in uniform, and are asking to pass to the other side of the street. These are my colleagues, friends and even relatives who were and are in Belarusian prisons. At that time we were waiting for YOUR help. Real action. But .. You continued to express doubts, serious concern, threaten with your finger, and prevent Belarus from participating in Eurovision. Hm.. For sure that was important too. Thank you for this, we felt it. The problem is that at the same moment, you continued to buy Belarusian tractors, and could not refuse Belarusian potash fertilizers, fuel and electricity. It was one of you who coordinated the names on the sanctions lists for several months, so that later the same names were laughing off these lists. But time passed. And we continued to be arrested, imprisoned, beaten, the remnants of an independent press were banned, and civil society and all its institutions were destroyed in Belarus. I hope you'll understand, there is also a war going on in Belarus, but in this war real Belarusians have always been unarmed and, unfortunately, defenseless.
Writing this "longread", I am amazed and proud at the courage and valor of the defenders of Ukraine. I am ready to treat with understanding the critical statements from the lips of those guys who have not slept for several days, and with weapons, in their hands, they are fighting for their and our freedom, for their (Ukraine) and for my (Belarus) Motherland. If they feel better saying those words about Belarus, then it's worth it. But I will ask the rest to think about what, and how they blame the Belarusians, who for the past few years, strangled and bled, trying to fight for their still real freedom and partially lost independence.

I am proud of my Belarusian people, who again went out this Sunday at gunpoint of the âdefenders of the fatherlandâ and expressed their clear position: STOP THIS WAR. I am proud of my country, and I hate my state, because I have to write this text.
Live Belarus! Glory to Ukraine!Â
