Serious community support for vets via the Bob Woodruff Foundation’s #GotYour6 Network

A lot of people protect us all. They and their families sacrifice a lot to do that. We all need to play a part in helping them out. We can all do something.

About twelve years ago, I committed my support to the vets community, hearing that they needed a really good directory of actually useful vets' services across the country. I made that promise to the senior-most military spouses and the current First Lady.

After two false starts, I connected with the Bob Woodruff Foundation , who's always been really good finding and funding vets' organizations who are actually good at their job.

The Bob Woodruff Foundation folks imagined a network of organizations, across the country, sharing resources and knowledge to help address the issues that veterans face -- from hunger and housing to mental and physical health.

They created the #Got Your 6 Network, it's effective and easy to use.

Check it out here to find good veteran serving orgs in your community.

In the military, Got Your 6 means having each other's back. We're building a growing community that says, "You're not alone. You’ve had our back, and now we’ve got yours.”

Today, the Got Your 6 Network has more than 300 nonprofits in it, operating in all 50 states, American Samoa, Guam, and Puerto Rico. These organizations provide services that are accessible to more than 97% of US veterans, uniformed service members, their families and caregivers.

For nonprofits who help veterans and military families, check out the same place which includes application information for your organization to join the Got Your 6 Network.

This helps, but, more to come. Nerd's gotta do what a nerd's gotta do...

That's wonderful. I went to The 4 chaplains 81st Anniversary Remberance today at Forth Hamilton Navy Base in Brooklyn, NY. I have been a volunteer with military facilities through Time Square Church for many years. Thanks for your service.
