Orange Cap Game
As the great IPL has started again with 25 to 30% of audience capacity, people are rejoicing every single moment of it. I am a cricket fan and I love to watch every single match of the Indian cricket team and IPL too. There are number of people out there like me in this world who eove cricket and never missed a single match either. This game has its own thrill, excitement and joy. IPL is such a format of entertainment that excites many almost at every moment. But, why am I talking about cricket here? Because itâs a sport which teaches you so many life lessons almost in every match.

In the IPL, there are many types of rewards for your contribution as a team or as a player too. Among these rewards, during the very first match of the 2022 season, commentators were discussing the orange cap award. The commentators were all-time great man Mr Harsha Bhogle and Master blaster Mr Sunil Gawaskar. I personally love to hear this duo along with a Great man with a heavy voice Mr Ravi Shastri. Harsha and Sunny sir were discussing the orange cap as Ruturaj was batting from the CSK side. He was the orange cap holder in the last season. The orange cap is a reward for the player who scores the most runs throughout the running season. Ruturaj is one of the consistent players among many. But unfortunately, he got out in the very first over of the match. As soon as he got out, Sunny sir commented, âItâs all matter of time, performance and some luck.â
.
Since 2008, the year IPL started, not a single player could retain the orange cap, who so ever is awarded till now. Every time it is someone new. Soon after Sunny sirâs comment, Harsha sir said, âIt is quite difficult to stay consistent every time you play or perform. But most important is to give your best always. Maybe todayâs day is not for Ruturaj, but it doesnât mean there wonât be any either too. We know he is a great player and we must appreciate him for that. The tournament has just begun. I guess soon he will gear up again.â This commentary caught my mind.Â

Professional life is somewhere just like this game. Whenever we come on the pitch of any profession we want to perform our best. Everyone wants to play well to get some reward. This reward could be anything. But to perform well is the main goal. It happens to many of us that we could not perform well every single day. Sometimes we get de-motivated too. Sometimes someone shouts a loud at us or sometimes we underperform. Yes! This happens to every single one of us. But as Harsha sir said, âIt might be not your day today. But it doesnât mean there wonât be any either too. We know we can perform well. So it is important to give our best always.âÂ

Our professional life is like a sports game and we have to perform our best always. Do not get demotivated soon. Maybe someday is not yours but there will be your day soon. Stay consistent and stay positive.
