Never Say Die!
I donât know how many of you really follow cricket. Mainly there are three versions played in International cricket. The traditional 5 day test matches. 50 overs a side, one day cricket and the latest entrant twenty overs a side T20.
Last month and a half a fun filled Indian Premier League T20 tournament was played. 8 teams competed playing each other twice. That is, each teams played 14 matches each in the league stages.
At the end of half way stage, âMumbai Indiansâ my home team, was at the bottom. That is at the 8th place. And I heard experts writing them off saying that, they have a Herculean task winning probably almost all the remaining matches which in all probabilities was impossible.
I wonât go into details but, at the end of Round Robin stage, Mumbai Indians were second from the TOP.
Utilizing the ability to peak and peaking at the right time is very important and a special ability especially in long tournaments like this. What is the use, if you will all the first 10 or 11 matches and then lose all the remaining? Although, the percentage of wins is same, thr timing of peaking is wrong.
TIMING is very important in most of the things we do in our life.
They beat the Top team âChennai Super Kingsâ in the qualifiers to reach the FINALs.
And today, in the FINALs they beat the âChennai Super Kingsâ to be crowned IPL 2015 Champions, winning last 9 matches out of 10.
Hats off to their âNEVER SAY DIEâ spirit.
Congratulations Mumbai Indians.
Let all of us learn from this.
