More knowledge in less time?
I like reading, but i go through phases. I could go weeks without reading much and then spend my weekend plunged into an epic fantasy novel.
I subscribe to GoodRead, which is a nice way to get a book list. I currently have 100 books on my list. I also started listening to books (audiobooks) using Audible and Libby. Libby allows you to use your library card to borrow books (via Kindle) or audiobooks for free. Yep. Audible charges $14/month for 1 credit, which I think is pricey.
I must say audiobooks bring another dimension. The acting of some of the readers are quite good, making the "listen" more enjoyable.
I read this morning via TechCrunch a company in Germany was getting new funding for their company called Blinkist. I decided to give it a try. They summarize books for you in a 15 to 20-minute listen, which is perfect for my morning walk. This morning i got to listen to "Atomic Habits," which was interesting. They have a 40% discount, so for $59, you get 1 year of listening to book lists curated by experts and personalized recommendations. https://www.blinkist.com
The content quality is quite good. It is well read with music background etc...
Quite enjoyable.
I'm not affiliated at all with the company. Since it's the start of a new year, I decided to focus on certain topics this year. This app came to me and I thought I would share.
Happy New Year 2024.
