For example, think about how a social activist can improve the lives of those in need, push for policy changes, and get more support by using their influence.

Impact is the gauge of the change it spurs, whereas influence is the spark that ignites action. These concepts share an intricate bond, with influence laying the foundation for meaningful change. However, it is critical to recognize that not all influence has a positive effect because motivations greatly influence how things turn out.

Influencers and groups can easily exert their power and make lasting impressions. Being able to distinguish between impact and influence gives us the confidence to use our skills morally and work hard to bring about real change through social media activism, community service, and business enterprises. When offered the chance to become a part of a movement or group that claims to have an "impact," consider the reasons behind it and consider how it might be able to improve the lives of others.
