I liked this new and exciting book to be released on March 10, 2021.
I enjoyed reading âSatanâs Goldâ by Michael Ray Ewing a highly intelligent High-Performance Computer engineer, and an award-winning author. I liked this intriguing fast-paced and excellent story about an ex-FBI agent who is trying to get his life back on track with the assistance of a female computer hacker. They are on a quest to stop a mysterious ex-CIA agent who has already stolen billions and is going to destroy the worldâs economy.
Firstly, I felt this thrilling story was extremely thought-provoking and very apropos for todayâs society with its ever-expanding, new, and challenging security issues where complex financial issues can suddenly arise and create unexpected situations and financial loss. The author points this out with a poignant quotation,
âIn reality, the majority of your money is a number on a screen.â
I like the way the book began with a thrilling and mysterious scene where Tyler, the protagonist, is almost killed following a witness who has vital information he needs to question. Tyler follows the witness to a dark and dismal warehouse and the writer brings in all the drama, sights, sudden and unexpected sounds, and strange smells all of which made me genuinely feel I was right next to Tyler dodging bullets from nowhere desperately trying to find safety. From there on the story got even more exciting in my opinion.
I feel authors have their own style and I normally do not like to make comparisons of authors since I think it is generally not productive as I think each author is unique, however, in my opinion, this brilliant author writes in a Dan Brown-John Grisham-manner with a somewhat more intelligent and intriguing plot and subplots all of which I felt were very well crafted and well suited to todayâs IT environment.
I like the way the author exceptionally crafts this gripping story with increasing drama and excitement as the story progresses. I found that very entertaining and enthralling.
Also, in my opinion, this author describes the scenes, action, and interesting characters extremely well throughout the story. For example, here is a brief excerpt,
âDobrowski started to get up, then froze. Across the river, a figure moved under one of the trees, and one of Byrnesâ hired guns stepped into sight. The man, with blunt features and powerful shoulders, stood over six feet tall. He wore jeans, Adidas running shoes, and a loose, oversized sweatshirt that hid the pistol on his hip. He slowly swept both banks of the river, looked right at the bush Dobrowski hid behind, and then continued. His eyes lit on something above Dobrowski and to his right.
âHalf-standing, Dobrowski dared not move. He listened and caught the faint sound of careful footsteps. The second killer wore black jeans, a dark shirt, running shoes, and mirrored sunglasses. He stood so close Dobrowski could hear him chewing gum.â
I also liked the realism of the very well described characters who had difficult lives with complex pasts and the challenges presented to them and I especially liked the ending.
All in all, this book is extremely well written, thrilling, and very exciting and will stay with you after reading it. Highly recommended and very well done!
