How to Strategically Approach Incorporating a Successful Wellness Program

Taking chances and cultivating curiosity will increasingly be a key asset in creating an engaging and successful employee wellness program.  When we encourage our employees to share their preferences for their health and wellness, we hold space for them to feel a greater sense of ownership and commitment to the on-going success of the wellness services introduced within the company.  

In last month’s article, The C3 Method shared Why HR Leadership Matters in Prioritizing Employee Wellness. This month we build on that prioritization from our leadership and lean into strategic Chances in service of unpacking specific pain points and increasing your ability to cultivate a workforce centered around wellness.

Feedback vs Assumptions

Making assumptions is a natural part of being human, as every day we make countless assumptions about the people we engage with.  However, if you only relate to your employees based on your own personal assumptions about wellness, a disconnect between what should be created versus what is being presented can start to occur.  For example, if you assume an overweight teams best solution is a fitness program, you may overlook programs that focus on stress and poor energy management as the root cause needing to be addressed for your employees.

Taking a Chance to receive feedback requires stepping outside of your own perspective to ask employees questions about what kind of wellness programming they are interested in.  Ultimately, this creates a more inclusive office environment and captures each individual’s needs.

High Touch Assessments vs Tech-Based Algorithms

Taking a Chance on an expert who holds an outsiders perspective is never a bad idea, as we have found a strong correlation in providing nuanced solutions to the issues that might not be readily apparent in your workplace. While algorithms might be efficient, they lack the human interaction that can be incredibly valuable in understanding the deeper and personal layers of your employee engagement issues.   

Customized Programs vs Blanket Solutions

We repeat, there is no one size fits all solution as every single company we work with is truly unique and requires a different approach to their needs.  Customized programs allow you to mix and match, drop and adjust aspects of our offerings that may be more effective for your workplace. Attuning to what is and is not working allows us to gather feedback and procure the perfect solution for you.  If your employees are loving the in-house massages, but attendance to the yoga class is low, we find out why and make the necessary changes for increased success in engagement.

It’s all about experimenting and taking Chances on a variety of approaches for the betterment and personalization of your office wellness programs.  An investment in your employees is an investment in your company’s ultimate success.
