How to stay motivated in the hardships?

No matter how positive we are, there'll be days when things eventually fall apart, and getting back on track will require that little motivation.

With each passing day, we are submitting to impulsiveness as we progress in leaps and bounds, ushering in the latest technology into the comfort of our own homes. Our lives are being invaded by competition, tension, and anxiety. It's natural to feel unsatisfied amid big dreams and even bigger goals.

With the COVID-19 lockdowns and the new work setups, it's more challenging than ever to stay motivated. The new normal is captivating, but too much comforting can lead to destruction. As a result, as easy as it seems, motivation is the most important tool we need right now.

You would only have to remind yourself of a few things to stay motivated. Here is a list of them.

1. Eliminate procrastination. (Most difficult thing and first thing in the morning): Procrastination is a sweet poison that works against motivation. It can bring happiness for a few seconds, but then the guilt of avoiding work sets in. As a result, say goodbye to procrastination and act as soon as you sense your mind will join you in the game. If you dread going for a walk, simply get up and put on your joggers; you'll be halfway there. The trick is to get up from wherever you are in a matter of seconds and not allow your thoughts to convince you that you can do it later.

2. Small steps lead to huge achievement: You cannot climb a mountain with one step, right? Just like that, you can't expect yourself to meet unrealistic expectations of accomplishing large tasks in a single sitting! Worst case scenario, In the worst-case scenario, you'd lose all motivation to finish the task because your confidence would be hurt.

a. Choose a goal: We all have goals we want to accomplish. Invest in life's broader and more significant goals. De-clutter and begin with the simplest tasks first, working your way up to them one after the other. Set specific goals and stick to them!

b. Break it Down: Breaking down your task into manageable chunks is the finest thing you can do for yourself. This will relieve your stress, and you will be motivated each day for marking right beside the task.

3. Associate yourself with people who are concerned about your well-being: During difficult times, family and friends can be a place of comfort. Self-doubt is the origin of many of our worries. Maintain contact with and confide in people who care for you and want you to succeed.

a. Have open and honest discussions regarding your stressful situations: Allow them to share their insight and suggestions. Make friends with those who have a positive mindset. Motivation is contagious, and you will catch the vibe if you interact with people who are pleasant and optimistic.

b. Look into Suggestions: It is essential to seek advice from those who care about you, such as your friends and family. If you have a good listener alongside you, you will feel considerably more at ease.

4. Cherish Happy Moments: Each and every moment of happiness, no matter how insignificant, should be treasured. It could be an appreciation, recognition, acknowledgment, an award,  or simply the completion of a task on time.

a. Always remember why you started in the first place! The purpose of life is to live a meaningful existence. When you're feeling sad, remember why you started. Think long-term. Consider your life's primary vision. It will energize you and tread you on the right track.

b. Know that ‘This too shall pass': Every material circumstance, whether pleasant or negative, is temporary, as the adage goes. Therefore, first and importantly understand that difficult times are only a phase that will fade. You may not have control over your circumstances, but you do have control over how you respond to them.

5. Refresh Your Mind: Staying healthy entails more than just physical fitness. Mental health is vital. Attempt to divert your focus away from the sources of stress. Try to relax your mind in any way you can! Even if you're busy, taking a few minutes to rest your thoughts can boost your energy levels by a factor of two.

a. Clean the mess! Stress is caused by mess. So get clear of the clutter right now. From your mind and your life! Arrange the documents coherently. Clean up the desk. Get rid of anything you don't want. It will modify your working and thinking habits. Delete all of your life's energy vampires or negative souls!

b. Continue learning: New books can be read. Podcasts with motivational content should be tuned to. Attend a lecture. Invest in self-improvement programs. The adversary of mastery is complacency. So don't stop learning. Seek to grow!

c. Maintain a positive attitude in your approach: Having a positive outlook on life is a form of motivation in itself. Start appreciating yourself; attempt to ignore the negative influences in your life; and concentrate on the positive elements.

6: Be Decisive: This is one of the flaws that might demoralize people. Even in odd circumstances, you must learn to be decisive. Hiding under the table isn't going to protect you from the perils. Learn to come out and make a decision, even if you are unsure of the benefits and drawbacks. It will be up to you to choose whether you want to be a victim or a victor.

Last but not least, make self-motivation a habit, a way of life. Every day, try something new, listen to your favorite music in the background, and be proud of yourself for doing your best. It's the simple things, after all, that makes a great difference.
