The Heart-Warming Ways Bereaved Parents are Keeping Their Fallen Kids Memories Alive ð¥
Bereaved parents Oren Smadga and his wife Liat are keeping their son Omer's memory alive, while inspiring so many young people taking the exact same path he did to protect Israel ð®ð±
In Oren's words:
A journey in memory of Omer Smadga (may we exact retribution for his blood) along with his warrior spirit. A large part of Omer's life was the path that led him to make a decision to become a fighter in Golani and defend the State of Israel. Thanks to Koby Limor (founder of Warrior Spirit that prepares youngsters for the army) who organized this journey. The item is by Hadar Jacobi of 5 Sports Channel" ð®ð±ð
And in the clip - "The warrior spirit and the fact that these young people who are going to be soldiers and the next generation to protect the country - know his story and the things he was supposed to deal with ..." Oren Smadgaðï¸
In the clip we see a group of young people all pumped up to start their army service, doing a special symbolic 6km course in Omer Smadga's memory - a person they never actually met, but who had so much in common with them once upon a time. They dropped everything they were doing in the middle of their summer vacation to take part.
As Liat Smadga put it - "If they didn't know him when he was alive, at least they'll know him in his death - they'll get to know my amazing son who was beautiful on the outside, and even more so on the inside. He fought to find his place and that place was being a fighter and saving lives. We are immensely proud that he chose to be a fighter, that he saved lives in his life and in his death."
Another beautiful example shared earlier by ð Lior â Avraham² ð¥ is how this soldier's mother and entrepreneur brother created a special "SURFER" Glentz Beer in his memory.
Translation of Lior's epic post -
Have you heard about ðº to commemorate a soldier?
Yair Levin was a fighter in the Givati patrol
But before all that, he was:
A loving brother and son, a loyal friend
Crazy talented musician
And a surfer you only see in dreams
A 19-year-old boy
On June 10, Yair, he fell in battle
alongside his best friends
and his beloved commanders

The waves crashed onto the shore
Also the melody of life
In the picture together with Yair you see Naama
Yair's mother who wants to celebrate his birthday
Even if he will not be physically present
It's happening in two weeks on September 3
"My Yair was killed fighting in the Gaza Strip
Six days after we sat down to beer
for the last time
ðº
It was our quality time
Little moments of happiness
between a mother and her son
Yair always finished a day of surfing
with a cold beer and friends"
ðºðºðº
So they decided to release: "The Surfer's Beer" in his memory
Israeli beer, rough and unfiltered
Just like life itself
Just like Yair
Every sip is a reminder of a life cut short
But also for love, friendship and bravery
