Free is really free here -with quality!

From time to time, I review “Free Offers” on websites and comment here on their content and quality. The word “Free” can be a slippery one with all sorts of elephant traps and cul de sacs awaiting the unwary!

However, I have just seen a range of free offers from the Roots HR Community Interest Company. And their free resources are remarkably good, written in plain language, jargon free and with just the right economy of words!

Roots HR are a UK specialist consultancy for human resources working for  the social sector.

They are offering stacks of free UK  Employment Toolkits and Fact Sheets  for anyone either engaged in Human Resources or just interested  in  various workplace rights and responsibilities.

Their website says they  “enable organisations to continually improve performance and sustainability through better people management, whilst ensuring an understanding of and compliance with employment legislation”. A link to their website is at the end of this post.

All the free materials  are nicely set out with useful links and signposts. The Roots website also enables you to access their blogs ,employment law bulletins and a prerecorded library of webinars.

There is also an offer of a one-hour free HR  consultancy for social sector organisations. To qualify for this, the eligibility criteria says to qualify, organisations must: i) be established as a bona fide social sector organisation in the UK (e.g., a charity, community organisation, co-operative, social enterprise or an infrastructure organisation supporting the sector) AND ii) be currently delivering services or trading OR iii) be preparing to deliver services or trade.
