Entrepreneurial Skills for the Workforce

We’ve noticed — in our years working with entrepreneurs around the globe — that many are driven and have a sense of urgency about getting things done.

Another is their resourcefulness.

Being driven gets them waking up and setting goals whether mental or on paper, to make things happen. it has also become clear that those who write down their goals achieve them at a higher rate than those who don’t.

If you truly want to learn from the entrepreneurial skill of being driven, write down your goals on a daily or weekly basis.

We’ve also learned that many of these driven entrepreneurs set only 1–3 goals per day, knowing they will be interrupted throughout the day by other things.

A sense of urgency allows entrepreneurs to focus on making the driven attitude happen. Feeling like today and right now is the best time to do it allows you to set those goals and go after them.

Many entrepreneurs with a sense of urgency skill accomplish much more in their day-to-day activities. Having a sense of urgency also gives the opportunity for your customers to feel important as well as appreciated.

Being resourceful can be advantageous, especially when starting and growing your business. Being resourceful means that you don’t necessarily have to have everything you need to make something happen.

With a sense of urgency and drive, you could see what resources you have at the moment to start or grow the business and leverage the people, money, or equipment you already have in place or can access.

For those in the workforce today, we encourage you to look at these three skills from the entrepreneurial skill toolbox and see what you can learn.
