In this week’s edition, UGC has released special guidelines for students with special needs and learning disabilities. UGC has also revised guidelines for a Life Skills course to be offered to UG students. CISCE has invited applicants for the post of Chief Executive & Secretary. CBSE is looking forward to bridging the gap between school and college, while Maharashtra has asked its universities to publish lists of colleges that are not accredited to NAAC. AICTE grants Bharatiya Shiksha Board pan-India recognition.


UGC promotes guidelines for students with special needs and learning disabilities

The UGC has released guidelines to enhance education for persons with special needs and learning disabilities. These guidelines encourage curriculum flexibility, subject waivers, and adjustable academic calendars. CISCE Prepares for Leadership Change, Invites Applicants

CISCE is preparing for a leadership change as its Chief Executive, Gerry Arathoon, plans to retire. An advertisement was issued inviting applications from competent individuals for the role of Chief Executive & Secretary. Arathoon has played a significant role in overseeing the board's operations, including conducting the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) and Indian School Certificate (ISC) examinations. Maharashtra Universities List Non-NAAC Accredited Colleges

Maharashtra universities have to publish a list of colleges that haven’t received accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) to increase transparency and enable students and parents to make informed decisions. NAAC accreditation is considered a marker of educational quality, and this effort is expected to raise overall educational standards in the state. Read more here.


CBSE to focus on Bridging Gap Between Schools and Higher Education

CBSE is taking steps to bridge the gap between school and higher education institutions, says the Director of Academics Dr. Joseph Emmanuel. They currently offer 200 subjects across high school, but students cannot avail these due to restrictions in higher education. Life Skills 2.0 Incorporated into UGC's Revised Syllabus

A 10-member expert committee has revised guidelines to offer ‘Life Skill’ courses as an elective or optional course across disciplines to undergraduate students. AICTE Grants Pan-India Recognition to Bhartiya Shiksha Board


The All India Council for Technical Education AICTE has granted recognition to the Bhartiya Shiksha Board as a pan-India education board. This signifies that the board's certifications will now be accepted and acknowledged nationwide. It opens up opportunities for students under this board to pursue higher education and various technical courses without restrictions in colleges and institutions across India. Read more here.
