Cheltenham Triathlon #smashedit!

Cheltenham Triathlon #smashedit!

A personal achievement, I am so fortunate to have completed.

When Anthony Nellis, Questline Global, said that he was going to do 10 events for CCP to celebrate his 10 years in business, with the aim of raising a few £££'s along the way, never did I think that I would be such a close part of his quest.

Anthony's first event was in June (Fathers Day) and found 'me' running the Cheltenham Challenge Half Marathon with him, over Cleeve Hill on the hottest day of 2017. Never ran more than 10K previously, this was a super daunter!! We were joined by 8 others making an amazing team of 10 and an incredible start to Anthony's quest was born.

Half way into the run Anthony said "well I've got a Half Iron Man in August (2 Mile Swim, 60 Mile ride and then a Half Marathon), fancy doing the Cheltenham Tri with me in September"? I would have agreed to anything in my delirious state... and it wasn't until days afterwards that I realised what I had agreed to.

Never one to back down, the training started soon after. Mainly in the pool as my weakest discipline, the event soon dawned upon us as Anthony, Rob & Paul of Officeworx and Kate from the Gloucester Old Spot met at the Cheltenham Lido ahead of event.

We were all very excited and very much looking forward to getting going.... and that's just what we did - 500Metre swim, followed by a 13K ride and finished with a 2.5K run. It was epic.... to me at least.

Even better, my time was upgraded from an initial 1:00:04 to 59:23!

Big shout out to the team who joined Anthony (Rob, Paul & Kate) and to the Tri Woodmancote team who helped me in my training, to Cheltenham Lido for a well organised event and to all who read this and/or who have contributed towards Anthony's over all fundraising target of £8K - of which £4,523.75 (56%) is already pledged - only 3 events in.
