Change: Are You Happy or Sad?

This past weekend my wife and I cleaned out our daughter’s bedroom.

Jordan moved to Chicago last summer and now works in advertising at Leo Burnett. Jordan’s room hasn’t been redecorated since she was in junior high. A change was long overdue.

The cleaning process brought back a flood of memories. And a teary eye or two. It also brought excitement about the new look we’ve planned for this room.

And that’s how it goes with change.

When we resist change, it’s because we’re losing something. That loss can trigger feelings of anger, grief and uncertainty.
