Better support for military families starting to really happen

The rest of us need to figure out how to better support these families in a real serious way.

Last June, that started to happen via the House Armed Services Committee, in a genuinely bipartisan manner, led by Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE) and Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA).

The deal is that they started the military family Quality of Life Panel, focusing on specific issues that matter, like child care for military spouses.

On April 11th they released a report suggesting specific policies designed to directly benefit military families, with lots of help from Blue Star Families. The folks at Blue Star Families worked really hard making this a real thing, testifying at hearings, getting briefings to Congress from national veteran and military service organizations, and, more.

In particular, the House Armed Services Committee relied on actual data from the annual Blue Star Families Military Family Lifestyle Survey.

I saw some of this happening, first hand, it's the real thing.

Next? We'll be talking about how specific ideas can genuinely improve the lives of American military families.

We'll ask you to ask your local member of Congress to help get these provisions included in the annual National Defense Authorization Act.

Very helpful! But with a humble request sir help us also we have some families here suffering and looking for food and fees thanks alot

Craig Newmark something to consider for military families buying houses via VA program; with the change in the Realtor laws realtors are now asking buyers to pay some of their commission; by statute VA can not pay a realtor...so we do not want our military families left out in the cold, so something needs to be done to address this issue..I personally think all realtors should perform this service for a small flat fee for our military families...take a look at options to address this issue. Thanks!
