BEING COMMITTED . . .

BEING COMMITTED . . .

Yesterday I completed the #orangetheory marathon month and finished what I had #committed to do . . . run 31.1 miles and cycle 105 miles the month of April! Once I #commit and verbally state I am going to do something it is a pretty much done deal. Yesterday, it was almost 5 pm and I still had over 11 miles to complete the 105 mile total . . . I had been busy all day with appointments and time had gotten away from me. Part of me felt like just blowing it off as I had already worked out and 93.7 miles was not a bad finish. But deep down, I knew that I would be breaking my word to not only others, but to myself.

I am a firm believer that my word is my law, and the worst thing I can ever do is break my word to myself. It is basically breaking a #promise and getting in a habit of breaking promises to yourself can be detrimental on so many levels. I constantly see people go above and beyond to keep promises to others, but break them to themselves.

When you break a promise to yourself, you are sending yourself a powerful message that you are not important. You also go against your #values around being honest and acting with #integrity. In my opinion, commitments and promises to yourself. are the most important of all . . they establish a key aspect of your identity and your confidence.

Look at it this way, how do you feel when you finally achieve something you've been working at?? . . You feel great, right? And that one #success can boost your self-confidence to where you feel compelled to attempt even bigger and bolder things.

Lets all be and stay committed especially right now, during this pandemic! Comment below what you are doing to stay #committed to your goals? I would love to hear your thoughts.

People will rarely commit when they are first exposed to a new idea or concept. I have a similar challenge with hypnosis. After I debunk the myths and explain the process interest becomes commitment and commitment becomes change.
