BAUU 19 - How To Make Leadership Emotional Intelligence

In this issue 19, we focus on the critical role of emotional intelligence (EI - some people call it EQ) for effective leadership and how it can transform your team's dynamics and performance.

The format for Edition 19 is:

  • Problem
  • TL;DR Solution
  • Try This
  • It’s a Wrap

I'll only share the underlying TL;DR if you ask. If you have a problem you want a TL;DR solution, let's hear about it in the comments.

"Emotional intelligence is not the opposite of intelligence, it is not the triumph of heart over head – it is the unique intersection of both." (Daniel Goleman)

Problem

In today’s complex and rapidly changing business environment, technical skills alone are not enough to lead successfully. Leaders often struggle with understanding and managing their own emotions and those of their team members, which can lead to miscommunication, conflict, and decreased morale.

How can leaders harness the power of emotional intelligence to foster a more cohesive, motivated, and high-performing team?

"Leadership is not about being in charge. It is about taking care of those in your charge." (Simon Sinek)

TL;DR Solution

The answer is E.M.O.T.I.O.N. – a framework designed to enhance emotional intelligence and leverage it for more effective leadership.

Additionally, the Genos Emotional Intelligence (EI) tools can be instrumental in developing these skills. OK, so I’m biased as I’m a GENOS EI practitioner, and yes, we offer Genos International solutions.
