We were excited to attend the UK’s third Retail Design Expo (RDE) in London Olympia, one of Europe’s leading annual events for innovation and inspiration in the retail design world. The energy of the RDE stems not just from the vibrant stands but from the breadth of solutions, ideas and intuitive thoughts that are in the air – it’s events like these that remind us just how much we relish the challenge of staying on top of our game in the ever-evolving retail world.

As a leading European retail design & manufacturing agency with more than 80 years’ global experience in the field, we wanted to create a show-stopping live space with bespoke and experiential solutions, featuring our latest projects. The popularity and growing reputation of RDE made it an excellent platform to display our best work as well as discuss the top trends and issues within the industry.

Technology to the fore

As you might expect, the future of retail was very much at the forefront of everyone’s minds at RDE. After all, the modern consumer is one who prizes experiences rather than products, so the onus for retail businesses is firmly on the provision of a memorable, engaging and world-class shopping experience to win consumers round and keep them coming back for more – which is exactly our area of expertise.

As we saw clearly at RDE, retail experiences are being enhanced by ever more smart and innovative technology platforms, and we are at the forefront of shaping the retail spaces of tomorrow which will include tech such as drones, holograms and personalised interactive media.

Visitors were wowed by our ‘Arnomation’ fly-throughs and our immersive VR experiences which sought to bring retail to life and took our visitors through the ARNO journey to experience our end-to-end design solutions, from concept design to manufacture. Using virtual and augmented reality, retail businesses can offer a new level of interaction between their products and consumers by immersing them in a completely new environment.

The feedback we received from those who dropped by our stand was very positive and we really appreciated the opportunity to present the ideas that have successfully turned browsers into buyers for our clients.
