5 Time Management Tips

5 Time Management Tips

These work for me and I am sure you know all of them, but sometimes in life, it’s good to have a reminder, as we can often get lost along the way. These are some tips, and I would love you to share your time management hacks with our members too.

1. Create a To-Do List

Creating a to do list may be arduous but keeping everything in your head is even more taxing. We often don’t realize the overwhelming number of tasks we have. Daniel Levan-Harris from Mango Logistics Group, said “Creating a to do list, get’s everything out of your head and down onto paper, it helps organize your thoughts. Crossing off stuff on your to do list also gives immense satisfaction. There are also a number of apps if you are constantly on the go and forgetting your notepad.”

2. Re-evaluate & Prioritize

Now you have a to do list, how should you organize that? The best thing to do is prioritize, start with the highest priority first down to the lowest priority. We all want to complete the easiest tasks first but we all know finishing the crucial task will reduce anxiety levels and can even reduce your motivation. Plan out your time failing to plan is a plan to fail.

3. Find Your Peak

When is your peak productive period? A lot of people don’t know when they work best. Find out when your best working period is and get as much done as possible. We all have that time of day when we’re performing at our best, for me it’s early afternoon. For you, this may be after your morning workout, late afternoon, or even at 4 am. Whenever it is, get as much done during this peak productivity period, so when you are not ‘in the zone’ you will feel less stressed.

4. Dedicated Space

I tried working in various cafes, beach clubs, and friends’ houses. This chaotic routine didn’t work for me and it doesn’t work for many people. If you are one of those people you should already have a dedicated workspace, if not you should make one asap. It helps you switch your brain to work mode as soon as you are in that space. Keep this space tidy and clean, and create a positive working environment.

5. Rest

Sleep, we all know how important it is. But having adequate downtime is equally as important, especially if you have a heavy schedule. Lack of sleep has proven to be counterproductive and can lead to bad decision-making, which isn’t great if you have a large workload.  Meditation is very popular a lot of people I know have implemented it as part of their daily rituals.
