You're More Talented (and Beautiful) Than You Think

I just got an email from a friend I haven't heard from in a while. She enclosed a link to the video below. Here's what she said:

 

"...What an interesting parallel. Thought of you, J.T., when they said, it affects the jobs we apply for. It was an Ah-ha moment for me! I was speechless! "

 

My friend's comment about it being "an interesting parallel" speaks to something she and I have discussed many times before: people who are unemployed, under-employed, or employed but unhappy often view themselves as less talented than they really are. Just as this video shows how we sell ourselves short in the beauty department, the same can be said for millions of Americans out there looking for work and greater career satisfaction. They assume they are less talented...and it affects how they present themselves to employers.

 

FACT: If people can see your beauty, they can see your talent too.

 

But, none of it matters if you don't believe it.
