About 10 years ago I became very passionate about emergency and crisis management relating to emergency trauma care, being able to sustain life until advanced medical care arrives from injuries related to violent acts. I developed training for my SWAT team in conjunction with our medic and trauma surgeon, who just so happened to have multiple combat deployments. I took my interest even further and got my EMT license. I then realized my own agency was handing out IFAK kits with no training, so I developed a course and got my agency to approve it. Over 100 officers took my class, here is some feedback: “This is the best training I’ve had in my career” “This should be required at the academy” “This is the most important and valuable training I’ve had in 31 years”   When I transitioned into retail, I quickly realized associates were not required to have or provided this type of training. Associates are engaging, contacting, or apprehending suspects daily in situations that have the high potential to turn violent causing a potential life-threatening injury, with no training on how to address those injuries. These skills can sustain life until advance medical care arrives, when time matters, and 911 is too far away. That is why I created Trilogy Safety Solutions. I want to provide retail professionals the skills to treat preventable causes of trauma related death. This course will reduce your company’s liability and help keep your employees and customer’s safe in a time of crisis. Please follow my page if you believe this type of training is important and help me get the word out!

For an effective response, every incident calls for certain operational and management functions to be performed, and you can do this by applying the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS).
