Congratulations to Donnie Grubb, Manager of Trauma & Emergency Management at Berkeley and Jefferson Medical Center, for being named the honored recipient of the 2024 Fire Chief Award. Donnie received his award at the WVU Medicine Emergency Management Symposium in Morgantown and was nominated by his peers across this system. The fire chief/fire extinguisher award goes to the individual who puts out the most fires. This individual, through no fault of their own, frequently has major incidents arise, and works through them calmly and effectively, demonstrating what true emergency management leadership is all about. It may seem like they are always in the midst of a disaster, major or minor, but always come through. And when the smoke clears, they are immediately sharing lessons learned with the rest of the team. Congratulations, Donnie, for this well-deserved honor!
