Given my role as Venture Partner, and work in the VC world, I've seen thousands of pitches. I'm always asked by entrepreneurs about how to pitch and what investors are looking to hear. While it does vary based on the individual investor or fund, I've created a series of tips that I will post each week for entrepreneurs in my network. Some seem obvious but are often overlooked. Here is the second pitching tip of the week: Talk about your team's background, story and what makes this a winning team. This is crucial as investors are often investing in the team even more so than they are the actual product/idea.

The best entrepreneurs openly cheer for others. Which is why others cheer for them. The life of a founder is a rollercoaster.
