Why is it important to be a vulnerable but authentic leader? Because when a leader is not human, when they don't share their vulnerability, it is impossible for them to share their passion and commitment to their role. In addition, by sharing the challenges that leaders face, and how they have navigated these challenges, means that they inspire those around them. It is also important that leaders ask their team members their own stories, sharing confidences that build trust within a team. After all we all know that people respond to humanity. My takesway: Human Centric Leadership. It’s balancing empathy, vulnerability, humility and self reflection with assertiveness, while providing direction for the people and the organization. My experience: Leaders often feel they have to pick between being human centric and strategic drivers when in actuality they can be both. It’s an introspective and intentional balancing act that determines success as a CEO/leader. Fab Impact Consulting (Fabienne Lopez smolinski) transforms organizations from the inside out, this book is about leading from the inside out. There’s a common thread here! The author talks are insightful and inspiring. I highly suggest listening to each of them. No favorites, they were all wonderful with insightful learnings.
