I recently tried the all-hyped, newly launched Apple Vision Pro and it changed my perspective on Mixed Reality Devices! When this was launched at the Apple event last year, I had mixed feelings. I was really hoping for something smaller and sleeker, you know, something that lives up to Apple's reputation. This bulky helmet-like like device was a big turn off. But after giving it a go last week, my opinion has totally flipped. It's unlike anything I've ever experienced. It's truly unique and I admit, I'm struggling to put this into words properly. I tried opening multiple windows, trying to mimic real work setting. This device could truly turn your work laptop into a real-deal work’space’. Imagine arranging and organising screens throughout your space, even if you're not exactly in a traditional room. You can walk around wearing it, deciding whether to bring your screens along for the ride or leave them in place. It feels like a game-changer! And yes, just pinch the bottom edge of any screen with your fingers, and you can literally take it with you. I also tried their demo immersive video and it's light years beyond any other “immersive video” experience I've tried before. Did I feel like I was transported to completely different world with the immersive video? Not exactly. I was always aware I was wearing a piece of tech and everything felt crafted, but very well crafted. But what blows my mind is that this is just the first-gen product. Even at its "worst," it's impressively good. I feel optimistic about it and am hoping that future versions of the Vision Pro will get sleeker. I'm imagining a world where this device could become as much a part of your body as AirPods or Meta Rayban sunglasses are. What do you think would be the future of the Vision Pro? So I tried the Apple Vision Pro... Far and away the best thing about it is the spatial pictures and video. When people say the AVP is a spiritual experience, this is what they're talking about. It's a level of detail that your mind has never experienced. The closest thing I can compare it to is a dream. It's actually better than reality, which is a bit scary. Viewing sports will forever be changed by AVP. The experience is just so much richer than watching it on a flatscreen. It's like being a player on the field right next to a player taking a shot. Web browsing is amazing. Everything is just sharper and smoother. The navigation is effortless and natural. Using your natural vision and two fingers allows you to do pretty much everything. Productivity wise, the lack of a keyboard makes it hard to really think of it as a useful work tool. I used it for about 20 minutes at the Apple Store and it was quite comfortable for me. I did however, have a strange tingling sensation on the top of my head after using it. That went away after a few minutes. Overall, it's an incredible device and can't wait to see how it evolves. #applevisionpro

It's super easy to use, tracking where you're looking and what your hands are doing. It's great for doing a bunch of things at once, especially if you're using it with a Mac. When it comes to watching stuff, the 3D videos on the Vision Pro are something else. The Immersive Video feature is especially exciting while it could really change how we watch concerts/sports. Plus, it makes your videos and photos pop out like they're right in front of you! Right now, not all the big app names are on it, but the AR apps available are incredibly realistic. The patent, spotted by Patently Apple, shows what looks like a giant Apple Pencil. The idea is that the implement could be used to write or draw in virtual space, or to select and manipulate items that exist in virtual or augmented reality. "A handheld controller with a marker-shaped housing may have an elongated housing that spans across the width of a user's hand and that can be held like a pen, pencil, marker, wand, or tool," reads part of the patent application. And while a "head-mounted device" like the Vision Pro is extensively referenced in the documentation, this peripheral could also be used with phones, tablets, laptops, smartwatches, and other devices, according to the patent. Virtual paint brushes One of the cool little tricks that this implement might offer, as per the patent, is being able to display a range of "brush heads" that are only visible in AR – so it could change from looking like a paintbrush to a spray can inside the Vision Pro headset, for instance. We've got minions of swipes and waves and shakes, as well as writing and drawing, so there's clearly lots of potential for whatever this device is. All these movements would be measured via sensors built into the pencil itself. Apple has made a point of saying that you only need your fingers and hands to manipulate the software environment inside the Vision Pro headset, but we've also seen other patents that suggest other input methods are currently being worked on. #remedy Apple has reportedly halted the development of the Vision Pro 2 headset to concentrate on launching a more affordable version by late 2025. This new, lower-cost Vision headset is anticipated to be priced around $1,500. It will keep the high-end display from the Pro model but will have a simpler headband, smaller speakers, and fewer cameras. The goal of this shift is to make Apple's advanced augmented reality technology more accessible while still providing a premium experience. However, Apple is encountering difficulties in reducing costs without significantly compromising features. According to The Information, the number of employees working on Vision Pro 2 has gradually decreased, and at least one supplier was notified about the development suspension. Just had an amazing experience with the Apple Vision Pro demo at an Apple store in Miami! Here are my thoughts and whether I will buy it. 👇 🚩 The demo may not provide the full experience of having it at home, but it's definitely mind-boggling and goes beyond what you can see in YouTube reviews. 🚩 The demo lasted around 20 minutes and covered various aspects of using the device. First, you calibrate the dimensions of your head using an iPhone, and then you're given a custom-size strap to ensure a perfect fit. 🚩 The device offers three functions: eye tracking for cursor movement, finger tapping for clicking, and hand gestures for scrolling. It's simple yet effective! 🚩 I was able to see how apps behave, resize them, and move them around in my space. It felt like a whole new level of interaction! 🚩 The panoramas were mind-blowing! I could explore captivating spatial images and 3D videos captured by the iPhone. 🚩 I also opened the Safari browser and browsed through a webpage. The clarity and smoothness were impressive! 🚩 The highlight was watching a 3D video of Avatar. The visuals were incredibly crisp and clear, making it the best 3D experience I've ever had! 🚩 The final step was an immersive experience demo, where I was transported to different environments. From flying over mountains to walking on ropes, it felt thrilling! There was even a studio experience with Alicia Keys performing live. It was truly amazing! Overall, the Vision Pro device is premium in every aspect. The image quality, responsiveness, and precise controls are top-notch. While I encountered minor glitches that were easily resolved, it's understandable for a new device. The device's lightness and comfort were also impressive. As for purchasing, I currently don't see a specific personal use case beyond entertainment.
