Game Based Learning - Incorporating technology in classrooms Game-based learning is the use of a game as a learning tool. The game may be a standalone tool, though it aligns with the classroom curriculum. Classroom gamification, on the other hand, is loosely defined as a process of adding game elements to instruction to increase engagement #TeacherTraining #EmpoweringEducators #EducationForAll #TransformingEducation #ABEA #BiharEducation #OrientationTraining #PreAppointmentTraining #principals #schoolleaders #traininganddevelopment #leadershipdevelopment #nep2020 #ncf2023 #assessment #criticalthinking #mentor #mathematics #steam #scienceeducation #workshop #principalsschool #curriculum #educationforall #educationforchange #educationforsuccess #educationforlife #educationforimpact #educationinnovation #educationalleadership #educationdesign #educationexcellence

Experiential learning allows children to be part of the learning process. By letting them prepare a lesson and explain it themselves to the classroom, or taking them on field trips related to a subject they are studying in class, or even by using gamification, children have better chances of understanding and even memorizing their lessons. So, teachers, we encourage you to be as creative as you want in your teaching method. Just make sure you include your students more in the process, give them a voice and listen to them, and provide them with the space needed for an interactive classroom experience!Â

Transforming Education Through Gamification As educators, we're constantly seeking innovative methods to enhance learning outcomes and student engagement. I recently explored #Blooket, a gamified learning platform, and the results were inspiring! The Power of Play: I tasked my students with a Blooket homework assignment, and the leaderboard lit up with activity. Students were not just learning but strategizing, engaging, and immersing themselves in a virtual quest for knowledge. Beyond Scores: It wasn't just about getting the right answers but about the journey to understanding. Some students demonstrated precision, answering fewer questions with high accuracy, and showcasing a thoughtful approach to learning. The $5,000 Strategy: Blooket's in-game currency added an intriguing layer, prompting students to aim for that sweet spot of $5,000. It's fascinating to see how a virtual reward can mirror real-world aspirations and drive. A New Assessment Horizon: Moving beyond traditional platforms like Kahoot and Quizizz, Blooket offers a fresh, engaging experience that speaks the digital language of today's learners. To my fellow educators looking to spice up your assessment techniques - give Blooket a try! Let's make learning an adventure that students embark on with enthusiasm. This discusses the benefits of game-based learning (GBL) and its role in enhancing student motivation and engagement. Unlike gamification, which uses game mechanics in non-game contexts, GBL involves learning through playing games. The article highlights how GBL can be used to teach specific skills, simulate career roles, and transport students to different times or locations. It also lists five reasons educators are adopting GBL: it is motivating, up-to-date, familiar, experiential, and personal. The article addresses concerns about screen time and emphasizes that GBL should be selectively integrated into the curriculum to complement traditional teaching methods.
