Gamification and education go hand in hand, services like #DuoLingo and #Brilliant have harnessed itâs innovation and effectiveness to make learning a new skill or language fun and engaging. Branching out beyond commercial uses, gamification in education is helping to garner user to user based learning, highlighting the true meaning of educational equity. As we look to the future of blended learning, the outcomes are tremendous. As a recent study done by Utah Valley University, the use of gamification in general education, showed a 67.7% appeal in increased motivation showing no correlational data to measured demographics such as age or gender. To elaborate further for general application of educational gamification, in a study conducted by the National Technical University of Athens, research conducted found a 34.75% improvement in performance by those who used gamified learning outlets, and a high of 89.45% improvement in performance with challenge-based gamification learning. The future of education and gamification go hand and hand and the potential for growth is endless when the two join forces.
