If a franchisee changes their signage to operate independently within six months, a robust system for managing franchise partners is necessary. Consider McDonaldâs strategy: they buy land, build on it, and then rent it out to franchisees. This gives McDonaldâs complete control over the franchise. The franchisee, benefitting from a prime location, finds value in staying with the McDonaldâs brand for guaranteed profits. Our approach with one of our clients was different. We used a website for all orders. This online platform was key to maintaining control. Franchisees would likely only stay with us for a maximum of six months without it, as they could build up a customer base, change the signage, and then operate independently. Therefore, creating a strong control system for franchise partners is essential before franchising your business. #scale #franchise

Why does âResponsible Franchisingâ even matter? Other than wanting to do right by our franchisees and build systems that allow them to scale their business and have predictable results? It actually matters WAY more than you think. Hereâs why: People outside our industry hear one of two things when they hear the word âfranchiseâ. 1 â They think franchising is just McDonalds, Chic Filet or other legacy fast food brands 2 â Or if they know more than that, they think things like, âstay away from franchises, the fees are too highâ or âthis guy I knew bought a franchise and he didnât get any support and had to close his businessâ The next generation of franchisors will do the right things to end this. Lawsuits and irresponsible behavior will stop. The next generation of franchisors CARE about helping franchisees. The franchise model is such an incredible way to generate significant wealth IF it is done properly and that's the only way it should be done. #responsiblefranchising #weareaFRANCHISEEindustryÂ

To thrive in a franchise system, it's essential to understand not just what franchising entails, but also its purpose for both franchisees and franchisors. For franchisees, franchising offers a pathway to business ownership that is generally considered less risky than starting a business from scratch, often leading to a quicker return on investment. For franchisors, licensing their brand and business model helps increase brand visibility and grow market share. The power of franchising lies in numbers. For example: ã° The more services offered under a single brand name, the greater the consumer awareness. ã° Increased brand recognition makes it more likely that consumers will choose the brand when a need arises. ã° As consumer reliance on the brand grows, so does market share. To consistently meet customer expectations, franchisors must maintain a uniform level of quality and service across all locations. They achieve this by ensuring that the same operating system is applied consistently, regardless of the location of the franchise. When every franchise location adheres to this system, customers can trust that they will receive the same high-quality experience, no matter where they go. To attract the best franchisees, offer the best unit economics. Â Offer a non-competing brand with economics stronger than franchisees are currently developing and so strong that a franchisee can reinvest free cash to open more locations, compounding a much larger franchise business than they initially contemplated. Â Show them how switching to your brand makes financial sense in a way that makes them afraid of missing out. Â Franchisors, transparently share a strong Item 19 and maintain a happy, highly referencable franchisee base; Happy franchisees will sell more franchises than any marketing campaign. Â Franchisees, seek brands with outstanding numbers and where existing franchisees are still opening new units. If not, run. Â Together, you can build the next 1,000-unit chain.
