Make a difference in your community this holiday season. If you're passionate about creating a positive impact in your local community, here are meaningful ways to lend a helping hand to those in need. âHelp your local food pantry. Today, an estimated 12 million children are struggling with hunger in America. âGive blood if youâre able. The Red Cross and other organizations are in dire need of blood supply and have safe, healthy ways for you to donate. âVolunteer your time. Volunteering is a great way to support your community. âCheck on neighbors and family members, especially those who live alone, are elderly, or have health or mobility issues. âAssist in local or online fundraising efforts. Look into options that provide much-needed supplies to families. âTake care of yourself and others. Practice patience, kindness and mindfulness. #RuralHealth #ImproveRuralHealthcareAccess #Community

Within the next year there will be a general election. The UK has a chance to be best the place in the world to grow up. But right now, it isnât. In the last few years children are facing more challenges. There are more babies going without support from health visitors. More children growing up in poverty - 4.2 million to be exact. And more young people waiting months on a mental health waiting list. But it doesnât have to be this way. Thatâs why we, the UKâs five leading childrenâs charities â Action for Children, Barnardo's, The Children's Society, National Children's Bureau and NSPCC â have come together. Supported by more than 130 organisations from the voluntary and community sectors, we want to make sure the next government has a plan to make decisions for babies, children and young people and put Children at the Table. Will you join us? In less time than it takes to boil a kettle, you can sign our petition and ask the next Prime Minister and Chancellor to be a champion for children. https://bit.ly/3Su1UdK #ChildrenAtTheTable #ChildrensCharities #CampaignsForChildren #Charity

We agree that having the voices of our young people heard is paramount to improving wellbeing on a national scale. With 2024 set to be a year of change in UK politics, let's ensure our children are the priority. The NSPCC, alongside Britain's biggest children's charities, are asking us to sign their petition for the Government to: 1. Work together to improve the lives of babies, children and young people 2. Put childrenâs needs and voices at the heart of decision-making 3. Spend more of the nationâs wealth on babies, children and young people For too long, childrenâs voices have gone unheard. We need change. And that canât be left to chance! #childsafeguarding #socialcare #socialwork #childsafety

Spread the holiday cheer by giving back to your community! This season, let's embrace the spirit of generosity and make a positive impact on those around us. Here are some meaningful ways to give back: -Donate to Food Banks: Help ensure no one goes hungry by donating non-perishable food items to local food banks or organizing a food drive. - Coat & Blanket Drives: Collect gently used coats, blankets, and warm clothing to support those in need during the chilly months. -Toy Donations: Brighten a child's holiday by contributing toys or gifts to toy drives for families facing financial hardships. Look for an Angel Tree program near you. -Elderly Care Packages: Assemble care packages with essentials or handwritten cards for seniors in nursing homes or living alone. -Volunteer Your Time: Offer your time and skills at shelters, soup kitchens, or community organizations to help serve meals or assist in various activities. - Environmental Initiatives: Participate in clean-up drives or tree-planting events to contribute to a cleaner, greener community. Remember, even the smallest act of kindness can make a big difference! Let's come together to create a season of warmth and compassion. Share your giving back stories and inspire others to join in! #GiveBack #CommunityFirst #HolidaySpirit #SpreadKindness

Novus' Cost of Living Crisis Campaign supports over 500 individuals! In the first quarter of 2024, Novus launched a 'Cost of Living Crisis' campaign to support over 500 individuals. The campaign was a response to customer feedback and the widespread media coverage of the cost-of-living crisis and its adverse effects on millions nationwide. Our teams were mobilized to devise supportive measures; this resulted in a variety of activities, from offering energy-saving tips to customers, contributing to food banks, volunteering in community kitchens, organizing coffee mornings, providing financial well-being advice, to refurbishing a Community Café. A total of 25 different initiatives were carried out, positively affecting over 500 people, with donations exceeding £5000, and volunteers dedicating 60 hours of service. The feedback from those who received support has been overwhelmingly positive, significantly impacting the lives of individuals, families, and community groups in the areas where we operate who are most in need of assistance. A big thank you to all the Novus employees who took part and made a difference. #SocialValue #GivingBack #CostOfLivingCrisis
