When it comes to steel detailing, the difference between a basic CAD drawing and a detailed Tekla Structures model is like night and day. ð» Basic CAD: Just lines, shapes, and angles. ð»âï¸ Tekla Drawings: Detailed 3D models, precise connections, material takeoffs, and real-world accuracy. Getting the details right can make all the difference in fabrication and installation. Let's keep raising the standard in steel detailing! ðª #SteelDetailing #TeklaStructures #CADtoTekla #PrecisionMatters

Hierarchy Levels In Tekla Structures Drawings. The different levels of setting up the drawing properties are confusing to every new Tekla Structures user. Letâs make them clearer to understand. There are three levels on which you can change drawings: drawing, view and object level. â« The drawing level is the highest, and its properties affect the whole drawing. You can set up these properties before or change them after you create the drawing. â« View level affects only the selected view frames in an open drawing. You can access these properties when you double-click on a view frame, which opens View Properties. â« The object level settings apply only to the selected objects. You can select multiple objects at once and change their properties. Once object properties are changed on this level, they are no longer affected by higher-level changes. #teklastructures #steeldetailing #fabrication

My first 3D model of a multi-story steel building with Tekla Structures. ð» - ð© - ð¢ The professor's request was as follows: model all the beam-to-beam and beam-to-column joints to your best advantage. The plans and elevations provided gave me the ability to draw and differentiate (with different class colors) the various types of profiles used for beams and columns. Then by creating different components, I tried to generate connections that would be easy to put in place and that, above all, would not create bolt tightening problems where there is the presence of many holes. Certainly the model should be checked to ensure its adequacy with respect to strength, buckling etc. This was not the goal of the work and it is immediately apparent because the bracing is missing. However, it was really useful for me to 'run into' the space issues that play a key role in the design of steel structures. I didn't think it could take so long to model, but at the end of this work I realize that we often underestimate jobs just because we have never tried to do them.

I Solve Detailing Efficiency Gaps with Tekla's Expertise | Globally Recognized Tekla Consultant | Tekla Trainer | API Development, Consulting & Detailing | Founder @Â IBIMÂ Consulting
Drawing Dimension Tool : Work in Progress This Simple tool is going to save you (time) & make you complete your work quickly! (A must have tool for any Tekla User!)  âWhich tool am I talking about now?â  Well, it is the Drawing Dimension Tool.  With this tool, what takes at least a few clicks will be done in only a QUICK SELECTION!  I know exactly how frustrated it feels while working with GA Drawings and complicated shop drawings like â Truss â Handrails â Staircases  The complex geometry, multiple connections, curved sections & all the other complexities make it even harder.  And then, thereâs also the time pressure & software limitation!  But, but!!  With the DRAWING DIMENSION TOOL, all you have to do is pick the secondary members & primary part.  The tool will automatically identify the reference point of secondary members and place dimension in reference to primary.  And just like that, your work will be done ð®ð¨  Share your valuable inputs to make the tool user friendly. P.S. Do you still work manually & waste half your time on repetitive tasks? #teklastructures #detailing #project #fabrication #erection

Working with 3D scan is always a challenge. ðâï¸ Recreate excising structure request more attention to details - during time some of construction can change they dimensions. This will affect on the new construction. You need just to stay focus on what you are doing. ð Tekla Structures allows to work with 3D scans and design all types of news constructions that's are required. ðª ð¤

This weekend was a deep dive into some hands-on projects in structural engineering- Armed with Tekla, I embarked on crafting some basic designs of structure. ð The challenge? At the heart of these challenges was connection design within the projected frames including columns, beams, rafters, and its a fundamental aspect that can make or break the integrity of a structure. ð ï¸ Alongside, I delved into standard base plate design connections of multiple codes. It's fascinating how these standard elements, needed to be looked with so much profficiency and detailing. ð The detailed final drawing for fabrication. It was about bringing a concept to life, visualizing it in 3D, and exploring every possible angle and section. The result? A comprehensive view that leaves no stone unturned, ensuring that what moves from the drawing board to the field is nothing short of perfection. #StructuralEngineering #TeklaStructures #CAD #3DDesign #FabricationDesign #EngineeringChallenges

As a Structural Steel designer and detailer, I frequently disassemble my designs to identify the most efficient assembly and disassembly sequences. This exercise helps me optimize my designs for manufacturability and assembly. In my opinion, assembly and manufacturing teams would greatly benefit from a concise, step-by-step assembly process. This would significantly reduce the time spent on-site, streamline the assembly process, and minimize errors. By breaking down the assembly process into clear, manageable steps, we can improve overall efficiency and productivity. #caddesign #autodeskinventor
