Think a career change is on the horizon for early 2025? 📅 It's time to start that process now. Sound too early? Not at all. With executive and leadership searches taking anywhere from 4 - 12 months to complete, starting your search 9 months out is a wise idea. A few things to consider: 💡 Set a job search strategy. Finding a leadership or executive role is a job so treat it like one. Build a project plan with metrics and deliverables to keep you on track. 💡 Define your target roles, industries, and companies. Are you planning to stay in the industry or make a big pivot? 💡 Do your due diligence. Once you've established your targets, start your research to better understand the needs of your future industry, employer, or role. 💡 Fill the gaps. Once you've identified your targets and researched the requirements, begin filling the gaps in your background. Address skill gaps, thought leadership, or other requirements you may be missing. 💡 Update (or create) your necessary documents - resumes, bios, cover letters, LinkedIn profiles, etc. 💡 Identify and engage your network. Begin the networking journey to utilize the expertise of those who can help. Need a more robust network? This is the time to be purposeful in that process. 💡 Start interviewing. Interviewing can be a great way to explore your target industries and expand your network. Remember - interviews are simply conversations. Treat them as such. Defining and implementing a strategy in 2024 will help you find the right opportunity in 2025. #executivesearch #careers #jobsearch
