Regional Infrastructure Accelerator Program NOFO – FY 2024 - Build America Bureau, U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Release Date: October 28, 2024 Description: The program aims to provide U.S. public entities with grants to expedite transportation projects eligible for TIFIA credit assistance. The grant supports planning, analysis, financing strategy development, and project acceleration efforts. Eligible Applicants: U.S. public entities, including states, counties, municipalities, MPOs, Tribal governments, and other organizations involved in transportation. Ideal Applicant: New applicants or entities that demonstrate the capacity to deliver transportation projects through innovative financing and infrastructure acceleration. Ideal Projects: Projects focused on transportation infrastructure development, especially those promoting safety, equity, climate resilience, and workforce development aligned with DOT priorities. Evaluation Criteria: Experience and Qualifications in financing methods, project transparency, and public-private partnerships. Partnerships with public/private entities and collaborative stakeholders. Business Model viability, cost-efficiency, and operational strategy. Project Pipeline viability, with preference for TIFIA-eligible projects. Readiness to commence operations. Focus on Underserved Communities. Self-Sustainability beyond the 2-year base funding period. Risk Assessment and mitigation strategies. Alignment with DOT priorities such as safety, equity, climate change, and infrastructure repair. Funding Amount: $10 million total, with individual awards between $975,000 and $2 million, potentially covering 6-10 new RIAs. Due Date: Applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. EST on January 9, 2025.
