When I started my first internet company I couldnât get anyone to invest in my ideaâ¦.. I heard ânoâ so many timesâ¦. ð Youâre too young ð You donât have any money ð You donât have the experience ð Youâre crazy, get a ârealâ job How many of you have ever wanted to go for something but someone told you were crazy? Thankfully my 80 year old grandma believed in me and gave me a $10K loan. She had no idea what I was talking about or how BIG the Internet would actually get. And my kitchen table startup and eventually grew it to $100 million business ð° My grandma made her money back and then some! ð Before she passed away, I was also able to take her on some incredible trips to show my gratitude. Here we are in Italy driving a Ferrari! â¤ï¸ I think about her all the time. Itâs why Iâve invested in over 100+ companies. You just need 1 person to make a bet on you! So why am I sharing this story? Today is National Entrepreneurs' Day ð To ALL the entrepreneurs out there, I want to remind you that if I can do it⦠SO CAN YOU! ðª #entrepreneur #founder #startup #success
What an incredible story! It just goes to show how important belief in yourselfâand sometimes in having just one person who believes in youâcan make all the difference. Your grandmaâs faith in you, despite not understanding the full scope of your vision, is truly inspiring. Itâs a reminder that no matter how many "noâs" we hear, one âyesâ can change everything.
I saw a meme today that said "Believe in yourself. If cauliflower can become pizza, you can do anything!" Thank you for this share and we all need a grandma (engine) like yours! â¤ï¸
Did you actually drive the Ferrari?
ð¯ Kim Perell my uncle invested $100k in Gutzy Organic - Keep Moving when we were rocky and it made a huge difference ðð»
Such an inspiration!!!
Kim Perell Every Big Dream Starts with One Believer When starting a journey, especially as an entrepreneur, hearing ânoâ is almost a rite of passage. Too young, too inexperienced, too âcrazyââweâve all been there. ð But hereâs the truth: you donât need everyone to believe in you, just one person who does. For some, that might be a mentor, a friend, or in this case, an 80-year-old grandma who believed before she even understood. ð¡ Key Takeaways: Rejection isnât the endâitâs redirection. One believer can change everything. Gratitude fuels the journey. Never forget the ones who took a chance on you. Pay it forward. When youâve succeeded, help others who need that first âyes.â On this National Entrepreneursâ Day, remember: every successful entrepreneur was once told they couldnât do it. The secret? They didnât stop trying. #NationalEntrepreneursDay #BelieveInYourself #StartupJourney #Gratitude #DreamBig #Entrepreneurship #KeepGoing #CAROHITUPADHYAYA
Once you believe in yourself and you don't give up, the rest will be history. It is painful that People don't celebrate the process but the results. Well-done ma and God bless Grandma for believing in your dream, may her soul continue to rest in peace.
If Those 1st 4 lines w/ the golden finger? Are still your idea â¦. Bye bye I say NO too!
Owner, Sharp Family Productions a Faith-based Entertainment Company
10hMy mom sent me a check for $500 when she couldnât afford her cancer medication for me to start my company. She called me her âwarrior,â and told me to never quit fighting because she believed in me. She has passed and my company, âSharp Family Productions,LLC,â (a faith-based, family-friendly entertainment company) lives on to continue her legacy of faith and family. Love God, Love others. Itâs just that simple.
