Gen Z is more likely than millennials to make online purchases from creators Interesting chart from EMARKETER showing data from LTK on generational differences in consumption behaviors. It shows that 73% of US Gen Zers say they make online purchases from creators, compared with 66% of millennials and 59% of adult consumers overall. It's not surprising that younger audiences purchase more from creator recommendations than older audiences, but what surprised me is the gap is way narrower than I would have thought. It's also worth talking about the high percent of in-store sales taking place, which are incredibly hard to track back to creators and pretty much impossible to reward creators based on typical affiliate programs. The lesson to me is this... 1️⃣ Creators are highly influential is driving consumptions 2️⃣ Standard affiliate models won't capture a major portion of actual sales that are influenced by creators (in-store + online that isn't immediately attributable) 3️⃣ The younger generations drive the highest consumption, but every generation is clearly influenced by creator recommendations. Love this! As a young consumer I would say it’s because we trust the influencers we follow. It’s almost like trust is the real commodity bc without trust we wouldn’t buy. ❤️
