Is Degrowth an Imperative for Sustainable Development? Absolutely Not ! Here's my take on it. Firstly its just a classical Luxury belief. By leveraging technological Innovations such as AI/ML/IoT, Industries can significantly reduce their emissions, control their losses which inturn would reduce their environmental impact and carbon footprint. Years ago critiques of AI/ML argued : " Digital solutions such as AI feeds on electricity, electricity feeds on Natural resources so AI/ML is pernicious to a healthy Climate" I say, Its utter nonsense. Today our Industries have started using AI/ML and IOT systems intensively to reduce thier emissions and losses. Many products out there in the market. I'd be quoting #AVEVA the technological lead, providing cutting edge solutions to Industries, helping industries in efficient and sustainable operations. Their session on digital Twinning of industrial processes/equipment was insightful. Was really surprised by their innovative concept of "Industrial Metaverse" utilizing Virtual Reality.
