I had a chance to watch this 45min webinar today , all very informative details - I was drawn to Jessica Ground of Capital Group one of world's largest asset managers , who cited their perspective on the importance of the SASB Standards especially from an investor’s lense. The issue of sector based industry standards , which are relevant, and material to companies per sector & how they can be used as part of the transition and implementation of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) standards IFRS S1 and S2. There was also a question from the chat on the criticality of the SASB standards when we have TCFD , IFRS ISSB standards & ESRS, & the response was the great thing about SASB is , was derived from investment covering capital markets & allows the concept of double materiality. On a personal view I have had the opportunity to dissect the SASB standards for industry metals and mining & I can understand why they can help an organization to implement requirements from the investor perspective as they clearly demonstrate guidelines that can assist on sustainability compliance and easily help with transition & implementation of ISSB standards (IFRS S1 and S2)

The 77 #industry-#specific SASB Standards play an important role in the #CSRD #Double #Materiality #Assessment until the #ESRS includes industry-based requirements. SASB Standards also identify #climate #related risks guidance for #CSRD #disclosures. Digital tagging enables #investors to #extract, #compare and #analyse sustainability disclosures--offering insight into future financial performance, improving investment decisions, leading to opportunities for superior investment returns and alpha.

What an extraordinary experience it was to represent CoreFiling at the IFRS Sustainability Symposium hosted by IFRS Foundation and International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) last week! The event, held in New York City, brought together over 1,000 stakeholders from over 50 jurisdictions to discuss the widespread adoption of ISSB Standards. I was amazed by the high-quality content and speakers at the symposium. A notable announcement was the release of the Preview of the Inaugural Jurisdictional Guide, enhancing transparency in capital markets by detailing various jurisdictions' approaches to ISSB Standards adoption. Additionally, as highlighted in the Guide, ISSB is developing the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Taxonomy to facilitate structured digital reporting, improving global accessibility and comparability. This effort is in line with the mission of XBRL International, Inc.. https://lnkd.in/d6bXGi-a The discussions at the Symposium also highlighted the importance of unifying reporting language through standards like S1 and S2, with 2024 priorities focusing on capacity building and digital taxonomy.
