A message from Michael Parker, USMC Veteran, Founder/CEO- Second Chance Rehabilitation Ranch, Host- Second Chance Podcast Follow and connect with him on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn https://lnkd.in/ghr2-WQb Operation: Hurricane Relief Project Refit Second Chance Rehabilitation Ranch Devildog Canine As many of you know, the western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee regions were left devastated by Hurricane Helene. Second Chance Rehabilitation Ranch, an organization dedicated to helping end veteran and first responder suicides, has teamed up with Project Refit, an organization with a similar mission, and Devildog Canine to support the relief efforts in these areas. While our government declines to aid our fellow Americans in distress, the burden falls upon us, the American people to come to their rescue. We are coordinating with other allies already on the ground and are preparing to launch multiple teams of veterans, first responders, and other highly trained personnel to assist in the aid and recovery process. Our teams will be mobilizing November 1st and we need YOUR support! We understand that many want to do good and support our brothers and sisters in need, but do not know how. There are multiple ways you can support Operation: Hurricane Relief. 1. Volunteer: If you are a veteran, first responder, or highly trained personnel, reach out and join us on the mission. We have multiple teams deploying from across the nation so please give us a call to connect with a team near you. 2. Donate supplies and equipment: We have multiple dropoff locations across the country including: Philadelphia, Iowa, Illinois, Arkansas, and North Carolina. Attached is a list of supplies needed by our volunteers and those suffering on the ground. You can drop off your donations by reaching out to your closest point of contact or taking it to the nearest dropoff location. 3. Financial donation: Financial donations will go towards purchasing additional supplies needed by our teams of volunteers, transportation, and equipment needed. Donations can be made through Project Refit, a 501(c)3 organization. Donation Project Refit 501(c)3 82-2163506

As Hurricane Milton, a potentially devastating Category 5 storm, makes landfall near Siesta Key, Florida, the urgency of preparedness peaks for residents and businesses alike. In the wake of this storm, states of emergency have been declared across several Florida cities, underscoring the severity of the situation. The impacts of Hurricane Milton, following hot on the heels of Hurricane Helene, are expected to be far-reaching, with dire projections for both infrastructure and community safety along the Gulf Coast. History has shown us that storms of this magnitude not only disrupt daily life; they reshape entire communities. It's essential that we prioritize safety and swift adherence to evacuation orders and emergency protocols while extending support to neighbors who may be more vulnerable. In the days ahead, as recovery efforts begin, we'll learn invaluable lessons about resilience and community fortitude in the face of natural disasters. Stay safe, Florida. Your well-being is paramount during this critical time.

After the devastating events of Hurricane Milton and Hurricane Helene, survivors need help and support more than ever. Homes, businesses, and entire communities have been destroyed, leaving people without shelter, livelihoods, and a sense of security. Entire communities are facing the unimaginable, as the world they once knew has been wiped away. For many, the hardest part isnât just what was lostâitâs the overwhelming uncertainty of how to move forward, how to rebuild, and how to heal. The trauma from these storms will last long after the physical damage is repaired, as survivors grapple with the emotional scars that remain. Survivors face overwhelming challenges as they work to rebuild not only their homes but also their sense of stability and well-being. At ERS, we are committed to training disaster response professionals with trauma-informed skills. This approach blends emotional and practical recovery strategies, ensuring survivors receive ethical, culturally sensitive care. By offering personalized support and focusing on both the immediate needs and the emotional impact, ERS helps survivors rebuild their lives with resilience and dignity.
