I help Phys Ed teachers elevate instruction and student achievement through impactful teaching and assessment strategies | Teacher-Speaker-Consultant
Such an important quote from Tom Guskey. How much time do we spend helping students and families understand this point? How much time do we spend as a staff revisiting this notion? How different might student perspective or belief about possibility be if our efforts were aligned to this? It truly is a small shift from traditional practices that can have profound impacts on students, their learning, and the experiences we as teachers have supporting them in this. #assessment #learning #education

Developing agency in the education system - focussed on empowering curriculum design for parents and learners
â¨Last night, I wrapped up my third and final parent workshop of the week, and it was clear that the group was feeling a bit overwhelmed by the school application process. Together, we tackled some big questions that many parents face: - Whatâs the difference between an academy and a local authority school? - Grammar schools vs. comprehensiveâwhat are the pros and cons? - Should I aim to get my child into a smaller school? - Single-sex schoolsâbenefits and drawbacks? - How do catchment areas really work? Should we consider moving house? - How much weight should OFSTED grades hold? - Should we rely on league table data when making decisions? The workshop isnât about giving definitive answers. Instead, itâs about providing frameworks and insights to help parents make informed decisionsârooted in reflection, not guesswork. The best part? Seeing parents gain clarity, confidence, and a sense of agency over the process rather than feeling carried along by it.ð¯ #Education #ParentWorkshops #SchoolSelection #Empowerment #CriticalThinking
