ð°In rural #Cambodia, securing clean water is a daily struggle, particularly in the dry season. Without reliable access, community members would often walk for miles to collect water from ponds shared with cattle and other animals. The consequences of using unsafe water, especially for the elderly and children, included frequent health issues such as dehydration and stomach problems. Thatâs where the Wildlife Alliance Southern Cardamom REDD+ Project stepped in. Through this impactful initiative, 20 solar water wells were installed in Dang Peng and 5 in Sovanna Baitong, ensuring access to clean, safe water and radically improving daily life. Families no longer need to rely on unsafe sources, and the community has gained crucial education on hygiene and healthy water habits. "The Southern Cardamom REDD+ Project has been invaluable to the community. In Cambodia, where rising temperatures have caused many of our water sources to dry up, the REDD+ Projectâs provision of water couldnât have come at a better time. Itâs helping us navigate these challenging circumstances effectively."Â â Sophany Touch, Wildlife Alliance Ecotourism and Community Development Project Manager. Thanks to these efforts, clean water is now a reality for many, transforming lives and supporting healthier futures. As climate change continues to affect vulnerable areas, projects like these serve as vital lifelines for communities across Cambodia. ð Learn more about the Southern Cardamom REDD+ Project and its life-changing impact- https://lnkd.in/eU5_Y4ME #REDDPlus #CarbonCreditsWork #SouthernCardamom #Water

The Wildlife Alliance Southern Cardamom REDD+ Project has been a catalyst for transformation in communities like Chhay Areng village in Cambodia. By protecting the forest, the project is not only preserving the environment but also creating opportunities for sustainable livelihoods and education. Mr. Tith Ly, Deputy Commune Chief of Pralay, reflects on the impact: "'Through the Southern Cardamom REDD+ Project and Wildlife Alliance, our community has thrived. Weâve come a long way, but thereâs still more to do. I want to continue spreading awareness about the benefits of this projectâ The project has introduced solar water wells, improved infrastructure, and provided educational scholarships, helping villagers like Lyâs younger brother access higher education. Villagers are now working as tourist guides, cooks, and guesthouse owners, supporting their families and reducing deforestation.ð³ "The education I received through a scholarship was a turning point. It helped me truly understand how we could turn our village into an eco-tourism destination." â Tith Ly As communities continue to benefit from this project, they are building a sustainable future where people and nature thrive together. ð Read more about the powerful impact of the Southern Cardamom REDD+ Project and how itâs transforming lives: https://lnkd.in/gn_rwmkc #Cambodia #REDDPlus #ClimateAction #Deforestation #SouthernCardamom

ð¢ Conflict-free water in Kunene. We are excited to present the progress we have made in the Kunene Highlands of Namibia over Quarter 2 of 2024! Our priority for Kunene was to improve water access for both people and wildlife to reduce conflict over scarce or dysfunctional water points. Water Point Committees & Training: We've successfully established six water point committees and trained caretakers for each water point to ensure that the waterpoints remain functional and sustainable. Baseline Surveys: We have prepared to conduct household surveys to provide socioeconomic data for appropriate planning of potential rangeland restoration and carbon projects Tourism Development: We facilitated discussions between a tourism investor, Forgotten Valley Ltd., and the Orupupa Conservancy Committee to discuss a joint venture contract to build a 12-bed camp at Ekoto. ð¿ ð³ ð² A wonderfully creative, nature-focused holiday in Kenya! ð°ðª Who would have thought holidays could be a catalyst for change, a policy lever to pull? Imagine having a day solely dedicated to taking action for the environment, right here in Tanzania! Some might argue that millions of saplings could go to waste, but what if they don't? What if those who take a day off to plant trees return regularly to nurture them? What if they develop a genuine bond with the trees, finding joy in witnessing their growth? ð³ By planting these trees and dedicating a special day, we not only take action but also raise awareness about deforestation. People tend to care about things they understand. When they realize the impact of deforestation and the importance of trees, they become advocates for change. This initiative could cultivate a generation intrinsically connected to nature, a profound climate and nature policy outcome ð. Leaders and environmental enthusiasts in Tanzania, what about adopting this idea for our nation? Delivering the best snacks & drinks across the UK to homes and offices. Discover something new today!
We've now planted over 55,000 trees with Greenspark! 𥳠Since June 2022 we've been using the app on our site to plant a tree with every order..... The current project that we're supporting is the EarthLungs Mangrove Restoration Project in Kenya. EarthLungs empower coastal communities through fair work and wages by restoring mangrove ecosystems, crucial to employment, livelihood and nutrition. Mangrove restoration is the process of revitalising and improving mangroves - coastal wetland habitats mainly found in tropical regions with unique trees and plants. Mangroves are crucial ecosystems for a variety of wildlife, stabilising the coastline to prevent the land from erosion and absorbing large quantities of carbon emissions to fight climate change. #plantingtrees #sustainablity #greenspark #trees #planet #shopify

TIST Farmers from the Luzoi Cluster in Kenya met recently in great numbers! 43 women and 55 men were present to discuss TIST Values, raised seedbeds and new Small Group registration. Subsistence farmers spearhead TIST's environmental restoration efforts. Their leadership in the program creates local leaders and their numbers amplify the scale of tree planting while intertwining sustainable land management practices and environmental restoration, becoming leaders in the process. By partnering with farmers, TIST goes beyond environmental conservation by supporting farmers to become catalysts for restoring environments through community engagement. Subsistence farmers, deeply connected to the land, bring local expertise, nurture landscapes and have a vested interest in preserving their surroundings. Through tree planting, TIST Farmers enhance biodiversity, rejuvenate degraded lands and create multifunctional landscapes that benefit both ecosystems and livelihoods. Their active participation not only replenishes green cover but also cultivates a sense of leadership and stewardship, fostering a shared responsibility for a healthy and sustainable environment they can pass onto their children. @tistprogram #ouransweristrees #growingtrees #growingleaders #biodiversity #subsistancefarmers #localexpertise #restoringenvironments #environmentalrestoration #reforestationproject

Dear World, At COP 28, one of the highlighted topics among all landscapes actions was the emphasis on conservation of critical habitats and biodiversity. Oceans & Forests conservation is a priority action towards combating climate change and a global goal to achieve Net zero by 2050 and reduce carbon emissions by 45% in 2030. This calls for a collaborative action involving local communities to adapt to sustainable practices on reducing household emissions and a community action on protection of these critical habitats. At Ceriops Environmental Research Organization , we are focussed on community development and the conservation of oceans and mangroves. Creating a locally driven community action integrating climate actions, social development, awareness and education forums, campaigns for conservation, diversity and inclusion for climate actions. We implement well researched methods and approaches, utilizing a wide network and partnerships in driving the conservation of our mangrove ecosystems and empowering the local community to take the lead in conservation and creation of nature based enterprises. We have created platforms and partnerships for global support to our campaigns and ventures. I'm reaching out to the global space to support our projects through donations and impact funding by; 1. Planting a tree through tree credit purchase. 2. Reducing a carbon unit by donating an eco stove to a household. 3. Conserving our fisheries through adopting a fisherman with the right fishing gear. 4. Educating and creating awareness to our community through the Education and Awareness donation. 5. Supporting our venture through all purpose Grants for as low as $1.
