Improving Education Looping, a school practice since 1913, may lead to better academic outcomes for students. According to a study, students who had a repeat teacher learned the equivalent of about two weeks of extra instruction, or a month for high schoolers. This is because longer relationships make both teaching and learning easier and improve student behavior. Looping is a policy in which whole classes (or most of the students within a class) are taught by the same teacher in sequential years. #education #teaching #studentsuccess

Reading volume drives proficiency past low-volume peers w/ same instruction. But reading volume is built almost entirely at home via pleasure reading habits. And schools canât control what happens outside their schools. But schools can control what happens inside them. So schools can thus choose to spend scarce energy & resources on either: 1ï¸â£ somehow informing the community on the benefits of pleasure reading 2ï¸â£ providing essential reading volume in classrooms as part of Tier 1 reading instruction & worry less about things beyond their control #teachers #principalsschool #educationreform #educationpolicy
