🌍 Workshop for integrating green skills into education and research🌱 🔍🌿 Two-part workshop complete: Paeradigms just wrapped up an online workshop for colleagues and INASP partners to share the knowledge gained in recent projects researching green skills and how to integrate them into education. This collaboration with INASP brought together colleagues and partners from 12 countries and will be followed by gender training with INASP. The workshop adopted the TESCEA project as a case study, identifying points for integrating or deepening the green skill development for the second phase of the project. Using the collaborative tool Ideaflip, participants contributed their insights and experience on a board between sessions across several areas: 1. Technical and transversal green skills: 🛠️🌱 2. Integration points: 🔄📊 3. Stakeholders: 👥💼 4. Partnerships and funding pathways: 🤝💰 5. Gender barriers and inequalities: 🚺🚹⚖️ 6. Green employment and entrepreneurship: 💼🌿💡 A key learning is that the TESCEA project is already contributing to developing green skills, even though they haven't explicitly labeled it as such. This finding is consistent with our recent experience in delivering green skills training. Other findings include the need to deepen stakeholder involvement and continue to address equity in the partnerships going into phase II. Today we are sharing our final case study from our #EducationReport, 'Systems Strengthening: The UK Education providers' contribution to the global education systems.' The case studies in this report showcase the work delivered by BEI members and local partners. Today we are sharing Tetra Tech International Development's case study which highlights their work evaluating the UK Governments Girls' Education Challenge (GEC) Fund. Tetra Tech has provided evaluations on the programme’s effectiveness, impact, and value for money. Thrilled to share my experience at the Global Youth Economic Summit #GYEO2024 in Maryland, USA. Representing The Global Opportunity Youth Network (GOYN), I had the privilege of speaking in two sessions during this amazing summit. In the Building an Opportunity Youth Led Equity Leadership Program and Network session, I highlighted the impactful work of our #YouthAdvisoryGroup members in addressing #systemic barriers to #economic opportunities. Early last year, a team of #YouthDesigners drawn from 10 of our #GOYNCommunites to #codesign this program that aims at supporting young people to #map #identify #speakabout and #address the system level barriers and #inequities affecting their access to economic opportunities. The call to action by young people is loud and clear: 💠 Increase Youth Participation: Decision-makers must meaningfully involve youth in policy-making processes. 💠 Challenge Stereotypes: We must actively dispel harmful stereotypes about youth and recognize their potential. 💠 Prioritize Youth-Led Initiatives: Invest in youth-driven projects and initiatives. 💠 Foster Intergenerational Collaboration: Build bridges between young people and adults to create a more equitable future. 💠 Hold Leaders Accountable: Demand accountability for equity and youth inclusion in decision-making. In my second session, I joined colleagues from #IYF, #YMCA, and #YFS to discuss strategies for meaningful youth engagement in driving economic opportunity, social equity, and environmental health. The GOYN Authentic Youth Partnership approach emphasizes genuine partnership and collaboration and beyond the rhetorics. Key takeaways: 💠 We need to move beyond frameworks and boardrooms. 💠 There is a need to engage young people as equal partners. 💠 Leverage technology for impactful outcomes.
