Proud to partner with organizations like Turlock Gospel Mission to connect communities in need to high quality care.
CityGate is the country's oldest collaborative network of independent, faith-based crisis shelters. I had a blast at their annual Sierra District conference, presenting Pair Team's partnership model alongside Christian Curby. This conference definitely raised the bar for great speakers with amazing stage presence -- but I guess I should've expected that, since nearly every other speaker was a former pastor! During our presentation, Christian and I were able to share the health outcomes and financial impact of our partnership. Fun fact: our partnership with Turlock Gospel Mission is generating over $40,000/month in new revenue for the shelter via Medicaid! This new revenue cover the wages of 6 staff and has reduced TGM's reliance on grant funding. Great to connect with Clayton Coates, Union Rescue Mission - Los Angeles, Merced Rescue Mission, Deborah Torres, and many others

Had a ton of fun with Amon Anderson, Jami Snyder, and David Kulick talking Medicaid innovation. It was a great discussion on how 1. State Medicaid Directors set priorities 2. Entrepreneurs find product-market fit within those priorities 3. Investors spot trends and support their portfolio Thank you HMA and R.J. Briscione for the invitation!

We all love Fridays, but this is a bittersweet ending to National Community Health Worker Week Awareness Week. Today we want to be sure to highlight Fernanda Garcia - who we are so honored to have as a PairMate. "My life experience has inspired me to be the person I am today, an advocate for the most vulnerable and underserved community. In 2002, my family was evicted from their home in East Los Angeles. This impacted our financial stability, health and education. To keep our family together my parents made the tough decision to stay in a vacant house in Boyle Heights. During our stay we had no access to utility services and my mother had to search for food pantries to feed our large family. My parents suffered from multiple chronic conditions and due to the conditions of the home we lived in, my younger brother also developed an infection on an opened wound. My parents set aside their health needs to care for my brother and focus on our housing situation which led to some complications of their own health. My family was turned away from services because we didn't look like your typical "homeless." This made it important for me to be the person my parents needed. My parents taught my siblings and I to respect and never judge a person. I've kept this with me throughout my journey as a CHW. It is my mission to help those in need with dignity, compassion, and empathy. I can truly say I found a career that I love, one that I could engage my head and heart every single day." Your consistent presence and commitment to your patients and each other is appreciated and felt. Thanks for being part of our community!

"Working as a Community Health Worker is such a rewarding experience. I am always met with gratitude from my patients and they truly look forward to our time together. The population that we serve often struggle with lack of access to or knowledge of resources that are available to them. Many of our patients are also just overwhelmed and do not know where to start in order to get their health and well being back to center. As Community Health Workers, we meet our patients where theyâre at and work our way up from there. Having had my own adverse experiences in life, I understand how difficult it can be to navigate through a lack of resources and little access to basic needs - this is what drives me to do my best to support our patients to the best of my ability." We are so honored to have Brittny Hayes on our team. Thank you for consistently showing up for your patients and community! #CHWAppreciation #CommunityHealthWorkers #PublicHealth #HealthcareHeroes #NationalCHWweek

In honor of CHW Appreciation Week, we want to take some time to appreciate one of our very own. Vanessa has been a vital resource for our teams, but don't it from us -- let's hear the impact from her: "When I first started as a Community Health Worker with Pair Team, I wasnât entirely sure what to expect for this role. I've never worked a CHW before and the program/role was fairly new to me & had never really heard much about it. But now, after being part of the program for just over a month, I can confidently say that it has been an incredibly positive and fulfilling experience. I genuinely enjoy engaging with my patients, helping them navigate and understand the complexities of the healthcare system, and empowering them with the knowledge and resources to take control of their own health. What makes this work truly rewarding is knowing that every conversation, every bit of guidance, and every small step forward contributes to building stronger, healthier communities. It's not just about individual patientsâit's about creating lasting change that ripples through families and neighborhoods. Iâm inspired every day by the impact we can make together, and Iâm proud to be part of a team that values this mission as much as I do." Thank you for all you do, Vanessa C.!! ð
