The WVU Hospitals Annual Awards Ceremony is always a time of celebration and appreciation, and this year's event kept that tradition going. We are #grateful to have so many wonderful people working to make #WVUMedicine a great place for #care, #careers, and #collaboration.

WVU Hospitals staff, providers, and leaders were recognized at the organization’s 2024 annual awards ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at the WVU Erickson Alumni Center in Morgantown.

Travis Stone, dietetic assistant at WVU Medicine J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, was named a 2024 West Virginia Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS) Ability Works Award recipient representing the Clarksburg District. A formal ceremony was held on Oct. 17 at the West Virginia Culture Center Theater in Charleston to honor all award winners.

The WVU Hospitals Transition to Practice Program, a program for nurse residents designed to empower new graduate nurses with the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to be successful and satisfied in their nursing career, has received accreditation with distinction from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, almost half of all adults living in the United States have hypertension, commonly referred to as high blood pressure, and about a fifth of those with hypertension are also diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. The WVU Medicine Division of Nephrology is helping patients manage their condition through a dedicated hypertension clinic, led by nephrologists Bethany Pellegrino, M.D., and Ojaswi Tomar, M.D.

For more than 100 days, Julie Vincent and her husband, David, were guests of Rosenbaum Family House as their late daughter, Emily, battled a mysterious lung infection at nearby WVU Medicine J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. 

The WVU Medicine Jon Michael Moore Trauma Center celebrated the resilience of two extraordinary patients and honored the dedicated medical teams who cared for them at the 13th Annual Night of Recognition on Thursday, Oct. 3rd at the Morgantown Event Center.
